Our in-house record system ensures that your intellectual property records are meticulously documented and maintained to the highest possible standard by our Records and Formalities Team. In the event that you wish to check your records or would like an overview of your intellectual property rights managed by us then you can contact us by phone or e-mail and we will gladly provide you with a customised report according to your requirements.
Granted patents, trade mark registrations and registered designs all require regular payments of official fees in order to keep them in force. SH&P have been providing this service for many years to our clients, where, on instruction, we will attend to the payment of the official maintenance fees as and when they become due. This ensures that your rights are properly maintained and do not lapse. Routinely, we will send out three renewal reminders in advance of your renewal deadline so that you will have plenty of time to budget for and instruct us to carry out the renewal on your behalf. The reminder system is all part of the service to our clients; if you choose not to renew there is of course no charge to you.

In addition to their paper-based duties the team manages our Online Services which include client access to their IP records via My SH&P, together with our bespoke Online Renewals service allowing our clients to take advantage of significant reductions in patent, trade mark and design renewal costs. In addition, our Formalities Team ensure that the administration of our clients’ records and all other day-to-day aspects run smoothly and efficiently behind the scenes.
My SH&P
We recognise that in today’s world many clients like to have quick and easy access to their intellectual property records – from anywhere in the world. For this reason, we developed My SH&P. If you would like instant access to your records then you are welcome to do so via our My SH&P secure online link. In order to gain access to My SH&P you need to create a user account so that we can send you a secure password. Once that has been done, you may log in to My SH&P whenever you wish, day or night.
Using your secure password you can view your patent, trade mark and design records wherever it suits you, 24 hours a day. All of your records are searchable via a secure connection and the database allows you to generate customised in-house reports for any purpose. Our clients find this service to be invaluable. It is also a very useful tool for those clients who are responsible for the management of a number of portfolios under different ownerships.

Online Renewals
When it comes to maintaining and renewing your IP rights, then our Online Renewals system will save you time and money. You can renew a patent, trade mark or design registration directly online and take advantage of a significant saving against the standard renewal costs. If that’s not enough, remember that the service is backed up by a professional firm with a wealth of experience in intellectual property matters. If any of your IP rights have changed ownership or title since grant, registration or the last renewal, then our system has the built-in facility to allow you to take steps for recording the change.
