SH&P Trade Mark Attorney Emma Kirkpatrick attended North Devon Conversations, which took place on Tuesday, 24th March, from 09:30 to 11:30.

Emma’s thoughts on the event…
It was anticipated that the North Devon Conversations networking event, held at The Mole Resort on 24 March, would be a highlight of the 2026 Devon Chamber of Commerce events, and it certainly was! The main purpose of this event was to propose the introduction of a North Devon Place Board, following the successful formation of an Exeter Place Board and a Plymouth Place Board. These Place Boards run alongside the Devon Chamber of Commerce and work to ensure that the priorities of Devon businesses within their respective regions are recognised and supported appropriately. It is acknowledged that businesses in the different regions of Devon can differ dramatically and consequently these businesses have different priorities and needs, and as such the Place Boards can highlight these to the Devon Chamber of Commerce and communicate what help and support local businesses need.  In turn, the Devon Chamber of Commerce can then work more strategically with these businesses to help them receive the support they need, such as financial and governmental support. The vote was unanimously in favour of having a North Devon Place Board and the process now begins to elect Board Members.
